Key Biscayne is a 7 x 2 mile barrier island in Miami Dade County between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay. It is the southernmost of the barrier islands along the Atlantic coast and lies South of Miami Beach and Southeast of Miami. Key Biscayne is connected to Miami via the Rickenbacker Causeway. The Northern portion of Key Biscayne is home to Crandon Park, the middle section consists of the incorporated village of Key Biscayne and the Southern part is protected area with two national parks. Incorporated as a village in the 1990’s, Key Biscayne offers services of larger communities including a public library, grocery stores and fine restaurants while maintaining the feel of an old-fashioned small town. For sports enthusiasts, Key Biscayne has an 18-hole championship golf course, a tennis center that hosts a major professional tennis tournament each spring and the Key Biscayne Yacht Club for boaters. Real estate offerings on Key Biscayne include single family homes, townhomes and condos many of which have wonderful water views.
